ECOJER Roundtable: Kazakhstan’s NDC 3.0: Setting a New Climate Vector
Kazakhstan is revising its Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC 3.0) through 2035, aiming for more ambitious emission reduction targets, stronger climate adaptation, and deeper integration of the climate agenda into national development. This transition requires joint efforts from government, business, science, and civil society, with updated commitments designed to be realistic, socially just, and economically sound.
The roundtable will discuss key elements of NDC 3.0: emission reduction goals by 2035, decarbonization measures in priority sectors, financing mechanisms, a just transition, and opportunities for cooperation under Article 6 of the Paris Agreement. Attention will also be given to barriers and enabling conditions, including institutional and technological aspects.
