In order to support the development of gender policy in the oil and gas and energy industries, the Women’s Energy Club KAZENERGY (hereinafter referred to as WEC) was established in 2013. Over the years, five major forums have been held (in 2013, 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2021), as well as off-site meetings at the venues of major companies such as Tengizchevroil, Embamunaygas, and Karachaganak Petroleum Operating BV, and the first gender study in the energy sector of Kazakhstan, “The Role of Women in the Energy Sector of Kazakhstan”.
Speakers and moderators at WEC forums have included the Secretary of State of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Chairperson and members of the National Commission on Women’s and Demographic Policy under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, members of the Senate and Majilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, representatives of government agencies, members of the KAZENERGY Association, and national and international experts.
