A graduate from Moscow State University (named after Lomonosov) with a degree in Psychology, she earned a Candidate of Sciences degree in Developmental Psychology and Acmeology from Russian Academy of Education. Sholpan also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resource Management from University of Gloucestershire (United Kingdom).
Before joining Tengizchevroil LLP, she held various executive positions in large national companies: Deputy Director of Human Resources Department in KazMunaiGas Exploration and Production JSC; Director of Human Resources Department in KazMunaiGas National Company JSC; Head of Human Resources Department in KazTransGas JSC; Manager of Personnel Management Department in Intergas Central Asia JSC; Manager of Administrative Management Department in KazTransGas JSC and Intergas Central Asia JSC; Manager of Human Resources Department in KazTransGas PJSC; Manager for Methodological Support for Training Programs in Kazakhstan Temir Zholy RSE; and Deputy Manager of Staff Planning and Record Keeping in HR Policy Department in Kazakhoil PJSC.
Sholpan successfully implemented several important projects in leadership development, strategic staffing planning, selection and development of successors to technical and professional jobs, employee assessment and IT solutions for various functions of human resources management. She also developed policies and procedures for personnel administration aligned with company strategic business objectives and operational activities.
