Gregory W. Riley is a geologist by background. He completed Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Geology at Southern Illinois University and a PhD in Geology from Louisiana State University. Presently Greg is accountable for exploration in the Caspian region including progression of exploration programmes and new acreage acquisition. He started his career with Amoco Exploration working primarily the Former Soviet Union.

In 1998 he moved to London to work on the Shah Deniz gas project. He worked in Shah Deniz appraisal and development until first gas and since then has led the exploration efforts in the region which includes signing three new exploration production sharing agreements (Shafag Asiman, Shallow Water around Absheron Peninsula and D230).
