AYKUT MEHMET EKEN

Mr. Aykut Eken was born in September 9, 1947 in Istanbul, Turkey. He is married to Gonul Eken and has two children.

Currently Mr. Eken holds the following positions:

• Honorary Consul of St. Kitts and Nevis to Belgium;
• President of F.I.C.A.C (World Federation of Consuls);
• Advisor and Former Coordinating Chairman of Turkish-Americas Business Councils at Turkish Foreign Economic Relations Board;
• The High Advisory Council Member of Turkey-Belgium-Luxemburg Chamber of Commerce;
• President of the Caribbean and Latin American Trade Association in Turkey;
• Chairman/Bahçeşehir University, American Studies Center, Latin America Project Advisory Board.

He holds the position of President in the following companies he owns:

• Beta International s.a.;
• AMK International in Kosova as G.S.A.;
• KAM International Shpk in Trina as G.S.A.;
• Betinoks Paslanmaz Celik Sanayi ve Dis Ticaret A.S.;
• DEPOM Depolama Lojistik Hizmetleri Ltd. Şti.;
• Kontuar Turizm Travel Agency;
• Orris Technologies A.S.

Mr. Eken has a Master Degree in Town Planning at L’Université Libre de Bruxelles, Belgium (1975-1977) and Degree and License in Architecture at Istanbul Devlet Muhendislik ve Mimarlik Akademisi (1967-1971).  He studied at Turkey Lycée de Galatasaray (French School) Istanbul, Turkey (1958-1967).

His achievements include the following:

• Brevet given by His Majesty King Albert II of Belgium- Officier de l’Ordre de la Couronne (2004);
• Eminent Services Plaque presented by Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey “Ministry of Foreign Affairs High Merit Shield” (July 3rd 2009);
• Awarded “Gusi Peace Prize” 2011 by Hon. Barry Gusi in Manila Philippines;
• Brevet given by His Majesty Le Roi PHILIPPE Commandeur de l’Ordre de la Couronne (2015);
• Titled of Honorary Ph.D. in International Relations (2018).
