Mohamed Arkab was born on the 19th February of 1966 in Hussein Dey. He started his career in the age of 24 in Sonelgaz and was a part of it until he was appointed as a minister of Energy of Algeria on 31st of March of 2019 under the Government of Bedoui. He occupied various positions in Sonelgaz, a state-owned agency in charge of the distribution of natural gas and electricity.
From 2006 until 2017 Mohamed Arkab was a Chair of the Board of Governors and General Director of two regional departments of Sonelgaz and in 2017 he occupied the position of the President and Chair of the Board of Governors of the Sonelgaz. Mr. Arkab is married and has 3 children.
